As specialists in structural repair and refurbishment, we are able to provide a complete service, ranging from underpinning and repair through to complete restoration, enabling us to restore your building to its former glory.
Once structural repairs have been completed and we have identified the nature of the defects, whether due to cracking, spalling or natural ageing, we can assess the most suitable product for restoration.
Initially, we will undertake trials to achieve the most aesthetically pleasing finish, ensuring we combine optimum long-term performance with minimum maintenance. As appropriate, we will utilise traditional skills and latest techniques to achieve an attractive finish in keeping with the character of the building, providing a highly cost-effective, durable solution.

With a first class understanding of all methods, techniques and products, we can achieve outstanding results and are experienced in working at high levels.
All building facades are different, with varying materials, so we will initially assess your requirements and the optimum method of cleaning to achieve the best finish. This could be water jet, masons nebulous methods, Jos/Torc systems or abrasive techniques.
Using the most suitable cleaning method, many years of carbonaceous dirt can be removed quickly and effectively. To ensure best results, we will always provide a sample panel for the chosen method of cleaning, to ensure performance and compatibility with the substrate.
Over the years, we have restored the facades of many prestigious, historical and period properties, both commercial and residential, and have the skills and expertise to advise on the best method of restoration for your building.

Whether we are dealing with a church, public building or private residence, our craftsmen can achieve outstanding results, using such cleaning techniques as water jet, masons nebulous methods, Jos/Torc systems and abrasive techniques.
As required, we will carry out a full repair, maintenance and polishing service, including brick and masonry repairs, and honing granite or marble.
Grit Blasting & Coatings
We offer total expertise in grit blasting and coating, which provides the most effective method for cleaning concrete, steel and timber.
Grit blasting comprises a mild abrasive and is best suited for the removal of surface contaminants, light rust, edge burrs and coating from most types of metal, including aluminium, cast iron and mild steel, as well as concrete and timber.
We are specialists in the field of grit blasting and although we primarily deal with concrete, steel and timber, our highly trained operatives also specialise in the cleaning of brick and stone.
Generally, we are called upon to remove multiple layer coatings from surfaces that are to undergo restoration or enhancement. Following grit blasting, we apply coatings by brush, roller or airless spray to specified film thicknesses. As appropriate, we can provide in-house capabilities to meet specific requirements.
Recent projects have included removing original coatings to soffits at Fort Dunlop, using open wet blast methods, followed by the application of anti-carbonation coatings; grit blasting and coating a new subway structure at Snow Hill Station; and grit blasting prior to concrete repairs and coating work at Kingstanding Shopping Centre.
Prestec UK specialises in the controlled removal or demolition of concrete structures, utilising high pressure water jetting to achieve fast, efficient, accurate results, without damaging adjacent areas.
Our machines are 1,500 bar units, capable of removing up to 1.5m³ of concrete per shift, and all our operatives are fully qualified, with training provided by the Water Jetting Association.
Pressure jetting enables us to achieve fast removal rates with less noise than conventional mechanical breaker methods and less damage to reinforcement.
In most cases, we are able to clean the reinforcement to acceptable levels for reinstatement works, alleviating the requirement for cleaning of the steel by open grit blasting. This also reduces operatives’ exposure to vibration, ensuring a safer working environment.
Using the Gunite process of sprayed concrete, we can achieve high strength concrete repairs easily and efficiently, without the need for form work.
Gunite is a highly efficient process of applying sprayed concrete that is self supporting without the need for form work, saving time and money and ensuring strong, durable results with low permeability.
Gunite is a very versatile material that can lend itself to many applications, offering the durability, strength and thermal mass of traditional shuttered and poured concrete, but applied much more quickly and particularly advantageous where there are access issues.
All our operatives are fully trained in the application of Gunite and we have an established reputation for our expertise in sprayed concrete design, construction and repairs.
Whatever your requirements, standard or complex, we can respond quickly, particularly in the case of urgent repairs or stabilisation, ensuring a high quality, durable finish that will last for years to come.
Water Proofing & Leak Sealing
We have considerable expertise in the field of remedial waterproofing and leak sealing, which we have carried out at locations cross the country, including flagship projects.
Effectively, waterproofing and leak sealing involves the protection of areas that are subject to the ingress of moisture, either periodically or continuously. This tends to be subterranean structures such as basements, piles, foundations, manholes, car parks, tunnels or tanks.
We have operated within this field for many years and offer total expertise, whatever the nature of the project, large or small, whether residential, commercial or industrial.
Initially, we will carry out a full inspection and provide a written recommendation as to the most suitable system and optimum solution for the project in hand.
As required, this could involve applying slurry coatings by brush or spray, a waterproof render or screed, sheet membranes or the latest leak sealing/injection techniques.
A recent high profile project saw Prestec’s team of highly trained operatives applying leak sealing and waterproofing at Heathrow Terminal 5.
We offer total expertise when it comes to installing chemical damp proof courses and have many years’ experience damp proofing all types of property, whether commercial, industrial or residential.
Our qualified surveyor will assess your property and advise which method of installation is best for your property, whether pressure injection, injection cream or a gravity fed system, depending on the material used in the construction of the wall.
If required, we will carry out replastering after the drying out period, ensuring a professional finish. All work is fully guaranteed on completion.
