About Us
Bartrams is a family run business offering the manufacture of high quality joinery products to our client’s exact specifications.

Established for over 20 years our company was founded on the principle of always putting quality and customers requirements first and is now renowned as one of the leaders in the manufacture of specialist joinery products and timber conservatories. We work across the Midlands on a variety of projects for The National Trust, English Heritage, churches, conservation officers and local authorities, private period homes and individual customers, and can supply anywhere in the country. Our craftsmen are all time served and their attention to detail and the quality of our products is unrivalled. By combining traditional joinery skills and techniques with modern technology we can offer an unparalleled bespoke service.

At Bartrams we are able to manufacture products from your own designs and drawings, or alternatively our hands-on design and production team are able to assist you with your design, planning and material selections to develop a whole range of items to reflect your precise requirements, budget and style.

Windows & Doors
The original design of the traditional sash and casement window is over 100 years old, and can benefit hugely from a few upgrades to bring it up to modern standards. Trust Bartrams joinery to use traditional joinery skills combined with modern techniques to renovate old joinery, or create new bespoke pieces.

Traditional Box Sliding Sash
Double hung sliding sash window. Counter weight pulleys and weights. Used mainly in listed buildings where single glazing is enforced. Can be double- glazed by introducing lead weights.

Spiral Sliding Sash
Modern version of the double hung sliding sash window, using tensioned springs in lieu of pulleys and weights.

Super-tilt Sliding Sash
Variation of the spiral sliding sash, allowing each sash to tilt inwards to enable easy cleaning from inside.

Storm-proof Casement
Typical, modern window in which outward opening casement extends around the frame. Easily cleaned from inside.

Flush Casement
Traditional design in which outward casement fits flush with the frame. Easily cleaned from inside.

H Window
This window allows the casement to be fully reversed, thereby allowing easy cleaning from inside. Euro-profile Tilt and Turn Inward opening window, commonly used throughout Europe.

As each door is a bespoke product, we can create any door style needed to suit your home or project. Door styles can be incorporated as a single door, double or French door sets, stable doors, sliding folding doors and patio door sets – all of which can be incorporated into almost any size opening. Our sliding-folding door sets are stylish and durable and are perfect for conservatories, patios and large open-plan areas as well as smaller rooms to give the illusion of a larger space. The sliding-folding door system is designed with endurance in mind and can be hung either top or bottom.

Bespoke Interiors & Furniture
We excel at creating bespoke interiors and furniture from any number of materials, to a high specification. We take pride in our work and our passion is matched by dedication and attention to detail.  Each member of staff approaches a project with the same care, taking the raw material and turning it into a unique piece of furniture.

We marry traditional handcrafting techniques with state-of-the-art technology. Clients may also wish to visit our premises to view their furniture at any stage of the manufacturing process; a personal and approachable provision that previous clients have been delighted with.

Conservatories & Orangeries
All of our Conservatories can be manufactured in hardwood or softwood and are individually designed. If you are looking for a space to relax and enjoy the natural light then we can create a special hardwood conservatory for you. Each hardwood conservatory is individually designed to meet your desires and blend in with the style and shape of your home.

Lean-to Conservatory
One of our most popular and classic glazed extensions, the lean-to conservatory is an ideal solution for creating a beautiful sun room to fit easily on to your house. Perfect for linking two sections of the host building, or merely as a bright and airy garden room.

Octagonal Conservatory
An elegant and spacious structure, the octagonal conservatory is evocative of the typical glass house styles of the Victorian era. Often used as a follow on from sitting rooms, dining rooms and kitchens, the Octagonal is a fitting design for houses of all sizes, shapes and ages.

Hipped Conservatory
A hipped conservatory is highly versatile in so much as it can often be designed to fit into the apex of houses, thereby using up space that might usually be redundant. Its square sides and broad hipped roof maximise the opportunity for additional living space.

Gable Conservatory
The straightforward lines of a gable fronted conservatories will complement all styles of buildings. It can serve as a link between two buildings, or be sited to the front, rear or side of the house. Its rectangular shape allows for easy furnishing as a sitting room, dining room or traditional garden room.

Hardwood orangeries can match the character of some properties more suitably than a conservatory with its larger area of glass. This is particularly important with a south-facing extension that will heat up rapidly on sunny summer days. The flat roof of an orangery pierced with one or more roof lanterns, in a matching hardwood finish, will protect the interior from the heat of an overhead sun, and as heat rises, the roof lanterns will provide much needed ventilation while still allowing the area beneath to be bathed in natural light.

Bar & Shop Fitting
We can exclusively design and produce exceptionally high quality shop/bar/restaurant fittings, such as bespoke bars, counters and shop fronts, with all designs completely tailored to the customers’ requirements; we can work with our clients from conception to completion.

Conservation & Commercial Work

To maintain an environmentally acceptable harmony between each building and its surroundings, all products are acquired from renewable sources where possible. Coupled with our ability to accurately and confidently assess the requirements of each project, we remain dedicated to conserving the architectural details of our built heritage for future generations.

We have carried out several projects for The National Trust, English Heritage, local councils, church councils and private clients.

However my wife and I were very grateful in the way you took control of the situation and resolved the issues on our behalf.
